WHAT DO WE COVER

Art installation on show at Heimtextil, Franfurt am Main, January 2019

In collaboration with Anca Badut, Juliane Glaser and Stella Funk

Furoshiki is an old Japanese folding technique to cover an object in fabric. As we researched Furoshiki, we we’re fascinated by the concept of this folding technique as a way to bring people together.

Furoshiki means to transport, to transport means to travel and to travel means to meet.

The interactive installation invites people to collaborate with each other to create a piece of craftmanship. The human presence in the work, seen in the projection as well as in the real world has been of great importance to show the dialogue between the material and the human touch, which is necessary for the manifestation of the craftmanship itself.
