Carlijn Olde Beverborg sees objects as equals, as a source of intimacy and companionship. She takes unseen machines from their own mechanical habitat and translates them into our homes. Here, machines suddenly turn into art objects or are dancing across the room.
At home there is interaction, you develop an affinity with these objects, and we become friends. As in today's world both people and objects seem to struggle with their acknowledgment and presence, her work compels you to think about the desire to see others and to be seen by others.
